POWDERSVILLE, S.C. -- Anderson County sheriff's deputies investigated a shooting at Hurricane Park in the Powdersville area on Saturday.Deputies said a man was in the outfield after his son's baseball game when he fell to the ground saying he had been shot in the buttocks.The victim was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The baseball field is next to a wooded area.Investigators said they're working with GPS technology to track the path of the bullet.Police said they don't believe any malice was involved. They said that it's likely the bullet came from a rifle because Saturday was the opening day of deer hunting season.
