N.C. Man Accused Of Threatening To Kill Obama

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A federal grand jury has charged a Union County, N.C. man with threatening to kill presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.Jerry M. Blanchard, of Indian Trail, was arrested on Aug. 1. He is accused of threatening to shoot and kill Obama on July 15 and again on July 28.It is against Federal law to threaten the life of a major candidate for the presidency.
According to court documents, Blanchard has been ordered to receive a psychiatric/psychological examination.If convicted, Blanchard could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
