BELTON, S.C. -- A reported car wreck has become a shooting investigation in the Belton area Friday morning.

Anderson County investigators said that a man called in to report a wreck on Belle Haven Road Extension in the county.

When troopers arrived, they found a man in the car had been shot several times.

The man was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital. No information is available on his condition.

Investigators said that the man told them he was shot in the parking lot of a supermarket in Belton.

No suspects have been identified.
