Agents Seize Drugs, Weapons, Cash From Home
Bullet-Proof Vest Among Items Seized

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Besides drugs seized at a Greer home, agents and officers said that they found weapons, a large amount of cash and a bullet-proof vest.James Anthony Dawkins is charged with distribution of marijuana. Christopher Leamon is charged with distribution of cocaine and distribution of marijuana.The items were seized during a search of a home on Sunnyglen Drive.
The investigation was a joint investigation with the Greer police vice/narcotics unit, State Law Enforcement Division narcotics agents and Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office deputies.Agents seized 4 pounds of marijuana, 11.1 grams of powder cocaine and 2.6 grams of crack cocaine, an SKS assault rifle with a banana clip, a Mossberg 12-gauge shot gun that was stolen in Greenville County in 2005, a .40-caliber handgun, a Rossi .38-caliber revolver and a bullet-proof vest. They also seized $10,748 in cash.Greer police Lt. Jim Holcombe said, "It is alarming ... Our officers are concerned for their safety. They're concerned for the safety of the public. We've had numerous drive-by shootings in that area."According to the Greenville Sheriff's Office, the investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected.
