Man Arrested In Fatal Hit And Run

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- A pedestrian died several hours after being hit by a pick-up truck Tuesday night, according to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler.Fowler said it happened on Fourth Street in Gaffney shortly after 9 p.m.David Lewis Sarratta, 68, of Gaffney was taken by helicopter to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center but died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, Fowler said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested James Upchurch, 34, about an hour after the incident.Upchurch is charged with felony hit and run involving a death.
