GAME NOTES: The 25th-ranked and top-seeded Davidson Wildcats put the nation's longest winning streak on the line today, as they take on the eighth-seeded Wofford Terriers in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Tournament. The winner of this game will move on to face either UNC Greensboro or Appalachian State in the semifinal round on Sunday. The Wildcats earned a first round bye in this event, as they completed their third undefeated SoCon campaign with a 20-0 finish. If that wasn't impressive enough, Davidson has won 33 straight games against conference foes and 44 of its past 45 overall. The team is currently riding a nation-best 19-game win streak and that helped the program land in the top-25 for the first time since the 1969-70 season. Davidson now turns its focus to the SoCon Tournament, where it has won nine titles, including the last two. As for Wofford, it went 8-12 in conference play during the regular season and that was good for the eighth seed in this event. With the sub par finish, the Terriers were forced to play a first round game, capturing a 58-49 win over ninth-seeded Western Carolina on Friday. The win improved Wofford to 5-9 all-time in this tourney. In terms of the all-time series, Davidson holds a 64-21 advantage over Wofford and it has won the last six encounters.

The Terriers did it with defense on Friday, as they held Western Carolina to a dismal 36.5 percent shooting effort from the field in a 58-49 triumph. Wofford knocked down 41.7 percent of its total shots and it controlled the boards, 38-30. The team, though, went just 5-of-19 from downtown and that was a bit surprising consider the Terriers were shooting 38.8 percent from long range coming into the tourney. Noah Dahlman led the charge with 16 points and five boards, while Corey Godzinski chipped in with 13 points. Shane Nichols, though was limited to just five points on a 1-of-6 three-pointers and that was well off his mark of 13.5 ppg for the season, The team's top scorer, Nichols is also shooting a much better 40.1 percent from three-point for the season. Drew Gibson had eight points and the same amount of helpers on Friday and he turns in 11.7 ppg and a team-best 6.1 apg on the season.

The Wildcats are led by superstar Stephen Curry, who was named the SoCon Player of the Year after leading the conference in scoring with a healthy 25.3 ppg average. The talented Curry has proven to be deadly from long range and accurate at the foul line, knocking down 43.7 percent of his attempts from downtown and 89.4 percent at the charity stripe. Curry hasn't sacrificed any defense for his offense, as he also leads the team in steals with 59. Jason Richards has played a big part in the squad's and Curry's success, as he dishes out a nation-best 8.0 apg. He also ranks second to Curry in both scoring (13.0 ppg) and steals (43). As a team, Davidson is averaging a solid 78.9 ppg, in addition to forcing its opponents into 17.2 turnovers per game.

Davidson is clearly the choice here and it should have no trouble running past Wofford with a big game from Curry and company.

Predicted Outcome

Davidson 82, Wofford 62
