School Locked Down After Robbery Suspect's Car Found Nearby

SENECA, S.C. -- A sighting of a possible robbery suspect caused the lockdown of an Oconee County elementary school on the first day of classes.Code Elementary School in Seneca was placed on a security alert for a short time Monday a fternoon.Seneca Police said an armed robbery took place at J and C Food Mart on Shiloh Road.
Shortly after the robbery, a car matching the description of the robbers' car was found near the school.Because of that discovery, school officials decided to restrict the students to their classrooms as a precaution.School was dismissed without incident on schedule.The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the armed robbery.
